Cosmo Cat: Star Battle — Privacy Policy
Last updated: ⟦PUBLICATION DATE⟧ · Versión en español
1. Data controller
⟦José Moraleda Marín⟧, self-employed sole trader trading as "Space Math Theory", Tax ID ⟦NIF⟧, address ⟦ADDRESS⟧. Privacy contact: ⟦privacy@spacemaththeory.com⟧.
2. Summary
- Cosmo Cat: Star Battle has no accounts and no servers of its own, and the game does not collect your personal data. We only process your email if you write to us (section 3.c).
- Your progress and settings are stored only on your device.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking, no sale of data.
- In-app purchases are handled by Apple.
3. What information is used and how
a) Progress and settings. Solved puzzles, the daily challenge, streaks, medals, Cosmic Gems, constellations, hint balance and preferences (sound, haptics, visual aids) are stored locally on your device. The app does not send them to any server of ours and we cannot access them. Deleting the app deletes them from the device. If you have iCloud or device backups turned on, that backup is managed by Apple and may include this data; we have no access to it.
b) In-app purchases. In-app purchases (⟦IN-APP PURCHASES: EXACT NAMES IN APP STORE CONNECT⟧) are made through the App Store. Apple takes the payment and processes your payment and account data as controller under its privacy policy. We do not receive your payment details (card, account or billing address). The app only receives Apple's purchase confirmation to unlock the item on your device and does not send it to any server. "Restore Purchases" is also handled by Apple with your account.
c) If you contact us. If you email us, we process your address and message in our email systems, only to reply. This is separate from the game: the game does not send any data about you to a server.
d) Aggregated statistics from Apple. Apple provides us with aggregated, anonymous statistics on downloads, sales, usage and crashes (crashes only from users who choose to share with developers). They do not identify you.
4. Legal basis
- Running the game and purchases: performance of the service you request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Game data does not leave your device through the app.
- Handling your support email: our legitimate interest in replying to people who write to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, if you ask about a purchase, performance of the service (Art. 6(1)(b)). You can object at any time by writing to ⟦privacy@spacemaththeory.com⟧.
- Consent: we do not rely on it to reply to you. If we ever asked for it, you could withdraw it at any time by writing to ⟦privacy@spacemaththeory.com⟧, without affecting processing already carried out.
- Website: technical data from the website (for example, your IP address) is explained in the legal notice.
5. Recipients and transfers
We do not share your data with third parties. Apple processes App Store and purchase data as an independent controller and may transfer it outside the European Economic Area with the safeguards described in its policy (apple.com/legal/privacy). Emails are handled by our email provider, ⟦EMAIL PROVIDER⟧, acting as a processor. International transfers by the email provider: ⟦EMAIL PROVIDER TRANSFERS: COUNTRY AND SAFEGUARDS⟧.
6. Retention
Game data: on your device until you delete the app (and, if any, in your Apple backups until you delete them). Emails: as long as needed to handle your request and then ⟦EMAIL RETENTION PERIOD⟧ or any legally required period.
7. Children
The game is suitable for all ages but is not specifically directed to children under 13, and the game collects no personal information from anyone, including children. Purchases by children can be managed with Apple's Ask to Buy and Screen Time. Children under 14 should not email us without a parent's or guardian's permission (Spanish law, Art. 7 LOPDGDD). If we learn that a child has contacted us without that permission, we will delete the message.
8. Your rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability by writing to ⟦privacy@spacemaththeory.com⟧. Your game data is only on your device, so deleting the app deletes it (and, if you included it in a backup, delete that backup from your iCloud or device settings). For emails you have sent us, write to us and we will delete them unless the law requires us to keep them. For data processed by Apple, use privacy.apple.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) or with your local supervisory authority.
9. Changes
If we change this policy (for example, if ads are added in a future version), we will update the date above and, if the change is significant, tell you in the app and in the release notes of the version that introduces it.
